EDITORIAL / PACKAGING INSIGHTS

A good structure starts with the correct material.

Kraft and folding board

Kraft board offers a natural appearance, while folding boxboard is often selected for vibrant retail print. Both can suit lighter carton formats, with thickness and coating chosen around the product and assembly method.

Corrugated board

Corrugated packaging places a fluted paper layer between liners. Flute profile, board grade and pack construction determine the support available for shipping and handling. A sample is helpful when goods are fragile or unusually heavy.

Rigid board

Wrapped rigid board is generally used for presentation packaging that benefits from a substantial feel. It is typically supplied assembled or with fewer folding operations and often suits gift sets and luxury collections.

Ask for a sample

Material names alone cannot guarantee a performance outcome. Evaluate a physical sample with the intended contents and consider transit testing where product protection is critical.

A note on specifications

Packaging needs differ by product and industry. Technical, legal and environmental claims should be confirmed against your own materials, intended market and supplier documentation.
